The Willows at Brooking Park Breaks Ground on $27 Million Expansion

 Project will create 45 new luxury apartment homes at the 26-acre campus

St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 10, 2015 -Representatives of The St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors System gathered at [Brooking Park’s independent living counterpart] The Willows at Brooking Park this afternoon to officially break ground on a $27 million expansion project at the contemporary Chesterfield-based, independent senior living community. Slated for completion in February 2017, the 110,400-square-foot addition will create 45 new luxury apartment homes on The Willows’ 26-acre campus.
Dozens of individuals, including current and future residents of The Willows, turned out for this morning’s event, which featured remarks from Mary Alice Ryan, President and CEO of the St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors System and Chesterfield Mayor Bob Nation. Members of the project’s construction and architectural teams were also on hand as a ceremonial turning of the dirt officially marked the start of construction. BSI Constructors Inc. is serving as the general contractor on the expansion project, while architectural work is being handled by Etegra Inc., and Hercules Construction Inc. is serving as the owner’s construction representative.
Currently consisting of 90 apartment homes and 14 maintenance-free villa homes, The Willows is now at full-occupancy. The latest expansion is designed to help meet the growing demand for those wishing to reside at the community, which features a host of amenities, including a 130-seat theatre, indoor pool, fitness center, full-service spa, two restaurants, a wine cellar, an art gallery, a creative arts studio, sculpture garden, a fine arts and ceramic studio, billiards room and card room, and library. Residents also enjoy full access to health care services at premier continuum of care facility Brooking Park, which was named one of the best nursing homes in the country by U.S. News and World Report in 2015 and is located on The Willows campus.

The new apartments feature 14 floor plans that range in size from 870 to 1,730 square feet, and come complete with a variety of individual amenities, including balconies or patios, optional fireplaces, large walk-in closets, high-end finishes, and vaulted ceilings in third-floor units.
With hundreds of available style and finish combinations to choose from, new residents will get the opportunity to work with their own selections coordinator to help them customize the look of their individual space. To date, 70 percent of the new units have already been sold, and interest remains high. Entrance fees to the community range from $270,500 to $519,000.
