Chesterfield, Missouri (October 30, 2012) – On the evening of Tuesday, October 30th, Ethan Schroeder, staff member at Brooking Park, was visited by former St. Louis Cardinals Player, Albert Pujols. He was kind enough to walk throughout the various neighborhoods within the community to visit with the residents. Pujols received smiles and well wishes as if he were still a part of the St. Louis Cardinals. Schroder is also a member of the Pujols Family Foundation, which is a national not-for-profit agency that not only supports children living with Down syndrome, but to help improve the quality of life through faith and family.
As one of the several outreach programs for St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors, Brooking Park supports the Special School District of St. Louis. Schroeder joined the team at Brooking Park several years ago through the co-op program managed by the Special School District of St. Louis; this particular program assists the special needs students to enable a smoother transition into the daily responsibilities of life. Due to his positive influence on the residents and staff, Schroeder happily accepted a position after graduation from the coop program in the Dining Services Department at Brooking Park.
